MDX signs first North American PACS Customer

Oakville, Ontario, March 9th, 2005

MDX is pleased to announce that it has signed its first U.S. Insight™ PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) customer – The Portland Neurovascular Center of Portland, Oregon. Portland Neurovascular is a center of excellence for the Pacific Northwest in the treatment of neurovascular and neurological disorders, including strokes, brain tumors and aneurysms.

“Insight™ PACS has enjoyed great success in Europe, and we are very excited about introducing it to North America, a multi-billion dollar market. We are delighted that our first U.S. customer is an organization that is a leader in its field and is one that is leveraging cutting edge technology to achieve superior outcomes. We look forward to a great relationship with Portland Neurovascular.” said Zoran Popovic, CEO of MDX Corporation.

Portland Neurovascular recently acquired a state of the art Siemens Trio 3.0 Tesla MRI scanner, which necessitated the acquisition of a PACS system. “We were looking for a PACS vendor that could distribute images to not only our staff, but also to referring physicians. Insight™’s thin client architecture allowed us to accomplish this in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The combination of functionality and value in Insight™ made our PACS decision easy.” said Dr. David Siker, Medical Director of the Portland Neurovascular Center.

Insight™’s unique features include the ability to deliver any image to any device (including PDA’s), field-specific clinical application modules (CAMs), and an intuitive interface.
