Attention Business Editors:
DXStorm Plans to Strengthen Medical Diagnostic Exchange through Partnership
with Medical Insight A/S
TORONTO, March 4 /CNW/ - DXStorm Inc. ("DXStorm") (TSX Venture
Exchange: DXX) today announced it has signed a Letter of Intent to form
a partnership with Medical Insight A/S ("MI"), based in Denmark,
which will significantly strengthen the medical imaging offering of Medical
Diagnostics Exchange ("MDX").
Under the terms of the Letter of Intent, MDX has received exclusive Canadian
and non-exclusive U.S. distribution rights to the MI flagship medical
imaging solutions - Insight mPACs(TM) and Insight iRIS(TM) medical diagnostic
imaging and workflow solutions.
With these MI solutions, hospitals and other health-care enterprises
will have rapid organization-wide access to all patient 2D, 3D and 4D
images and data. The Insight(TM) solution has been developed in concert
with the ongoing daily evaluation and feedback of clinical radiologists
and referring
physicians.
"We are pleased to introduce the breakthrough Insight(TM) PACS/RIS
solution to the North American market,"" said Zoran Popovic,
DXStorm CEO. "Given the similarities between the Canadian and Scandinavian
healthcare systems, and the need to control escalating costs in the American
healthcare system, we recognized that the Insight(TM) solution is a timely
offering to the North American radiological community."
The unique MI Insight(TM) solution is based on a centralized scalable
graphics server that can be accessed throughout an organization or over
secure internet or intranet channels via workstations including ultra-thin
clients, mobile clients, or existing computers. This provides quick and
simple access to advanced and powerful visualization and analysis hardware,
while specialized diagnostic applications (CAMs) provide focused clinical
solutions.
With the Insight mPACS(TM) + Insight iRIS(TM) solution, health-care
enterprises now have both rapid organization-wide and telemedicine access
to all patient 2D, 3D, and 4D images and data.
Said Dr. Andy Dobbs, CEO of MI: "Seamless and brokerless integration
of PACS and RIS functions is essential in today's market, especially for
supporting and efficiently streamlining workflows across a medical enterprise.
We are excited to partner with DXStorm with their range of networking,
hosting and storage solutions and with MDX and the Galileo(TM) advanced
medical imaging analysis solution."
Said Dr. Audrius Stundzia, Ph.D., MDX VP of Research and Development "Based
on our market analysis, the Insight(TM) solution is the optimal PACS
and RIS platform for the Galileo(TM) advanced medical image analyst software.
We are excited at this opportunity to offer to the North American market
Advanced Biologic's Galileo(TM) medical image analysis solution in combination
with PACS and diagnostic teleradiology using the proven capabilities of
MI's Insight mPACS(TM) solution."
DXStorm owns 66.7% of MDX. The remaining 33.3% of MDX is owned by
Advanced Biologic Corp. ("Advanced Biologic"), a private company.
